Vernallis’ Theory
Carol Vernallis believes that edits happen much more in music videos and
that there is a lot of disjuncture within a music video and also she believes
that there is base track editing as the rhythm is normally linked to the song.
Vernallis’ theory mainly states that:
- The camera moves in time
with the music
- There are a lot of jump cuts used
- Edits are obvious to interest the viewer’s more interested.
- Base tracks are used a lot to structure the video
