- The different variety of shots and the effect they have.
- How to edit using final cut pro.
- How to add filters and other transitions.
- How to fade shots in and out.
- How to set up equipment such as the tripod.
Even though I had picked on some key skills, I felt that in AS I made several mistakes that I need to improve on. One of these key factors was focusing the camera. We had several shots that were out of focus and therefore we couldn't use in our final outcome even though the shots were very good.
In A2 this is one of the things I worked on and I felt it went well because all of my shots were in focus. This gave as a more variety of shots to use, where as in AS we had a minimal range of shots to use.
I also felt in A2 I was able to expand my knowledge on and improve on some of the skills I had already learnt. I also felt I learnt new skills which helped made my video interesting to watch.
Some of these skills include:
- How to lay base tracks on the timeline.
- How to mark the base tracks and the song.
- How to make the song and the footage in sync.
- How to hide certain layers which made it easier to see which shot works better.
- How to add more effects to our footage. For example how to desaturate some shots.
- I learnt how to change the speed of some shots.
- How to focus shots better.
- How to use the pleasantville effect
- How to fade shots on top of one and another by changing the opacity levels.
