Filming
We filmed four days for about 3-4 hours, this included going to 4 different locations for our base tracks. First day we recoreded our base track during lesson time at a bus stop off city road this went well because the area we chose was discreet and had low foot flow so no one would really get in our way or get in the camera shot that would've meant we would need to reshot the clip one problem we faced was when recording through the glass on the bus stop we noticed our reflection was visible and this made the clip look very unprofessional so we changed the angle of the shot so that we couldn't see our reflection.
Second day was during the half term when we booked out the camera to take to South bank, we planned on recording one base track of our artist walking along the side of a bridge and a number of scenery shots. I was in charge of the camera to recored our 2nd base track i felt it went well but i faced a few problems when recording for example as i was recording our artist members of the public would walk across our shot which would mean it would need to be re shot. I also wasn't comfortable using the fig rig when tracking so i practised a few times in order to get better at using it so the shot would be more still. It was getting dark early but we managed to get in all our shots including scenery.
Third day we travelled to London bridge with a Camera, Tri-pod and a Fig rig. our aim was to recored another base track of our artist which we managed to do however we faced a problem that could've made us unable. when we set up our camera security came to us and told us how we wasn't allowed to film without permission as it the location was private property, at first we thought we would need to change location but after talking to the security about why we was recording and what the purpose of the clips was for he told us he would take us to his manager in order to get permission. Nikki went to speak to the site manager and he allowed us to record in the area only if we didn't recored building entrances. After we finished recording our base track we took turns to use the camera to take shots of the area as scenery for our video.
Our fourth and final location was in a park located in angel opposite college. our initial plan was to recored one base track of our artist walking through the park but we realised we had enough time to recored another so we decided to recored a base track of our artist sitting on a bench through different angles. The only problem we faced during the session was that when noticed when we took shots that people from the public would directly stare into the camera lens affecting the quality of the shot so we decided to reshoot some clips to avoid this problem.
I personally am happy with the different shots we have including the base tracks. I believe i have gained more experience on using the camera and have learnt more skills than i already had. In comparison to my AS course work i think the camera shots we have for our A2 project is at a higher quality. I enjoyed recording clips with my group and found it easy to work with my group as we had good time management skills and commutation with in the group was affective and benefited our work.
