We filmed most of our footage during lesson time so it was best for everyone. After coming to an agreement we went out on 4 days consisting of 3-4 hours of filming. We went to a variety of places including London bridge, South bank, the park and the bus stop. These were are base tracks we decided to use before filming so we went through with it and kept to our plan.
Day 1 - Bus stop
We went out during lesson time because the bus stop we wanted to use was very close to our college. The bus stop itself was on a fairly quiet road and only one bus was scheduled to stop every 12minutes, this helped us as it gave us the time we needed to get our filming done and also nobody was getting in the way as nobody wanted to get on the bus. There were a few people walking past the bus stop but this was alright and didn't affect our filming. We only encountered the one problem and that was when filming, the glass of the bus stop got our reflection and could see us with the camera which obviously didn't look very good quality. There wasn't much we could do with this problem therefore we had to result in moving out the way and just let the tripod do its job.
Day 2 - South bank
After discussing when is best for everyone we went out on the tuesday night during october half term. We decided to go out during the night simply because we wanted to get some shots in a dark setting. It was a nice calm area to film however busy but people respected us when filming and wouldn't walk in the way. There were a few people that disturbed our filming and got in the shot and this was the problem that occurred for us. As a result of this we had to start over again until we captured what we wanted perfectly. We managed to get some very nice scenery shots.
Day 3 - London Bridge
We went to London Bridge during our 3 hour lesson, as we needed a lot of time we carried on filming through our lunch break. When we first got there we was outside a train station and decided to get some footage of the station and our actor walking out the train station which we thought was a good idea. After that we walked on and got to London Bridge which was one of our base tracks. After filming some scenery shots we were approached by site security and were informed this is private property and need permission to film therefore we lost some time and we had to speak to the manager and request to film on the site. After accepting our request we were allowed 30minutes to get the rest of our scenery shots which was more then enough time. Other then that there wasn't as many people as we thought there would be therefore we didn't have any more trouble filming.
Day 4 - Park
The final day we filmed during lesson time as the park we planned to use was only across the road from us. This went very well and it was a nice day which helped us. It was only a small park but there was a path throughout the whole park and this is what we needed, our artist walking down the path with the trees and green surrounding him. A few times people walked in the way and looked directly into the camera however this wasn't that big of a problem and we managed to get it all done. As we had a lot more time then we thought we decided to create another base track of our artist sitting on the bench which came off very well.
Overall I personally am very satisfied with our footage we got and how our filming went. As a team we had good communication and time management skills which was essential. This only made our work even better. It was also a nice experience especially going to London Bridge and South bank and also its given me greater experience on the camera and other equipment.
