PLANNING - Risk assessment

During the process of filming we are aware that there are possible risks and dangers we could be faced with. To ensure nothing goes wrong we have highlighted what could happen so that we can plan the best possible ways to avoid these troubles:
  • We could lose equipment
  • Equipment may be damaged during filming
  • Someone might attempt to steal equipment
  • We may get lost
  • Actors or filming crew may be injured
  • We could get in trouble for unknowingly filming on private premises
  • We may film in an unsafe environment
  • Filming in the dark may be dangerous
To ensure none of this happens we will take precaution and plan in advance several things:
  •  In each filming session, we will all be aware of where equipment is at all times. In addition we will allocate a different person each time to be in charge of knowing where everything is(organisation)
  • We will ensure all necessary locks etc are set while filming for example when fitting the camera onto the tripod. Also, when setting up and packing away we will work as a team and not do this as individuals
  • We will not leave equipment unattended at any time
  • We will check in advance exactly how to get to each location quickly and easily
  • We will look after ourselves and eachother and ensure none of us are at danger while filming/acting e.g.: We will not be standing near the edge of a bridge just to catch a shot
  • We will make sure we have any necessary permission for filming in certain locations(if needed)
  • If we are uncomfortable in a particular area because we feel it is unsafe we will re-locate to somewhere we feel at ease
  • We will avoid filming at night, instead we will make any edits during post-production to make the shots we want to look dark
